JUNE 4: TASTING WITH RHEINHESSEN ROCKSTARS DOMINIK AND NIKLAS

30 May 2022

DOMINIK AND NIKLAS SHOW THEIR WINES IN THE SHOP

We’ve got yet another Doppeltasting in store for you! This Saturday, June 4th, two of Rheinhessen’s up-and-coming talents will be visiting Amsterdam together. Dominik Held, whose hugely popular cuvées we’ve had in the shop ever since his first vintage, and Niklas Rückrich, who deeply impressed us with his wines at the recent Weinsalon Naturel in Cologne, will both be present at the shop that day to dish out a taste of their exciting natural wines.

Based in Dolgesheim, Dominik Held produced his first vintage in 2019, after taking over 2.5 hectares of his father’s vineyards, which he started farming organically straight away. During his studies at Geisenheim, he became inspired by Austrian natural wine superstars like Werlitsch, Tscheppe and Gsellmann – and did an internship with the latter. He cultivates Huxelrebe, Dornfelder, Portugieser, Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, Riesling, Chardonnay, Weissburgunder, Silvaner and Sauvignon Blanc, treating each variety with the greatest respect – and producing unique and striking natural wines.

Niklas Rückrich is a third-generation Winzer from Eckelsheim. In 2016, after his studies, for which he did internships at Ziereisen in Baden and Pranzegg in Südtirol, he took charge of winemaking at the family business. Growing Riesling, Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the Burgunder-Rebsorten, on volcanic rock in Rheinhessen's northwest, he gradually developed a personal style with which he now steps into the limelight for the first time, under his own name and label. Exerting as little influence as possible, both in the vineyard and cellar, he makes a range of wines that took our breath away.

So, this Saturday, Dominik and Niklas will both be present in the store during the afternoon (13:00-18:00). Their full line-up will be open for tasting, even some amazing bottles which haven’t even been released, and we’ll offer a 10 percent discount on all their cuvées. As always, entry is free, as long as you bring your good mood, but we’d really appreciate you giving us a heads-up if you want to come and/or reserve some bottles. Anyway: see you on Saturday, come share a glass with these young Rheinhessen rockstars!

I want to join and secure a places / places!
