Chris Barth. Wine from Weinheim...Rheinhessen

Just in: the spectacular wines of Chris Barth from Alzey-Weinheim! We discovered Christopher Barth’s winery on our recent trip through Germany and were immediately struck by the character and signature of his wines. Located in Weinheim, a district of the Rheinhessen city of Alzey, Chris produces stunning natural wines characterized by pure elegance and clean minerality, beautifully showcasing the region’s volcanic melaphyr soil.

After the untimely death of his winemaking uncle, Chris decided to quit a career in IT and follow in his footsteps. He started from scratch and went back to school, graduating Geisenheim’s renowned wine university. From the start, he took the natural path, producing low-intervention wine without any unnecessary technology. Nature is treated with respect in the vineyard and trusted in the cellar, thus ensuring the vitality of his soil and the vibrancy of his wines.
