Riesling from Valwiger Herrenberg (40-70 year old vines, mostly ungrafted, grey slate and grauwacke, exposition south) crushed and macerated overnight before pressing, 26 months of ageing in barrique/tonneau.

This Riesling is intense yet compact. High extraction and precise acidity. Despite the warm year of 2022, it is bone dry and elegantly structured.

Powerful chardonnay with aromas of nuts, slight caramel and yeast/flowers. Beautiful salty, mineral-like taste in in which the usage of oak is purely supportive. Wine to keep, but already very tasty decanted! Small stock. Small allocation.

There is a hint of “natural” funk in the aftertaste but this just adds to the complexity and beauty of this amazing Sekt. What a great success! 2024-2029. Mosel Fine Wines No67 Sept 2023.
